Official Rulebook
These are the rules for the Peethan Challenger League (PCL), a League of Legends in-house customs league. By registering you agree to play by them. Admins can rule on anything not covered here, and their call is final.
Section 1. Accounts and registration
- 1.1
Register your highest-ranked account (the one with your best rank). The Riot ID has to be yours.
- 1.2
No smurfing. Playing on a lower account makes you ineligible for prizes at the least, and can get you banned.
- 1.3
Have more than one account? Tell an admin so it gets linked to you. Your rank is the best across all of them.
- 1.4
One Discord account per player.
- 1.5
Register 2 roles: your main, then your secondary. Or register as Fill to play anything.
- 1.6
Account sharing: you must play on your own registered Riot account. Account sharing, boosting, or letting someone else play for you is prohibited and can mean a permanent ban and prize disqualification.
- 1.7
Rank manipulation: intentionally deranking, hiding alternate accounts, or manipulating your displayed rank to get a matchmaking advantage is prohibited.
- 1.8
Account verification: admins may ask for reasonable proof that you own an account when looking into suspected smurfing or account sharing. Refusing can mean a suspension or losing prize eligibility.
Section 2. Queueing
- 2.1
Type /q in #pcl-queue to join (no voice channel needed). A match needs at least one log kitty in it to pop.
- 2.2
Only queue if you can play a full game. Once 10 pop, you're committed.
- 2.3
If nobody new joins for 2 hours, the queue clears itself. Hop back in with /q.
- 2.4
Can't play anymore? /leave before the queue fills.
- 2.5
Queue dodging: once a match is formed, you are expected to play. Repeatedly declining matches, not joining the lobby, or leaving without a valid reason can lead to temporary queue restrictions.
- 2.6
Leaving an active game: intentionally abandoning a match in progress is prohibited. Disconnects and technical issues are reviewed case by case. Repeated incidents can lead to a suspension.
Section 3. The lobby
- 3.1
The bot names a Lobby Maker. They make a Tournament Draft custom game and invite everyone.
- 3.2
🔵 Blue team plays blue side, 🔴 Red team plays red side.
- 3.3
Play the role you were assigned. Fill protection and MMR bonuses are based on it.
- 3.4
Use your team voice channel and the match text channel to sort out the lobby and draft.
- 3.5
Outside assistance: coaching, ghosting, stream sniping, or getting real-time strategic info from spectators during a match is prohibited.
- 3.6
Cheating and exploits: scripts, unauthorized third-party tools, intentional bug abuse, and any other cheating are strictly prohibited.
Section 4. Reporting results
- 4.1
When the game ends, anyone on the winning team runs /win, or anyone on the losing team runs /lose. Only the first report counts.
- 4.2
Remake, dodge, or the game never happened? Use /cancel and nothing is recorded.
- 4.3
Report honestly. A wrong result gets corrected (from the recorded game data or by an admin), and reporting one on purpose is cheating. Correcting a result also fixes the streak bonuses in every game after it.
- 4.4
Disputed results: if players disagree about a result, the match goes to an admin. Bring screenshots, match history, or other evidence. The admin sets the right winner, or nulls the match if it can't be settled (see 4.6).
- 4.5
Evidence: when you report cheating, griefing, or other rule breaks, include evidence when you can (#report-a-player takes screenshots and clips). Knowingly submitting fake evidence is prohibited.
- 4.6
Illegitimate matches are nulled. If a match turns out to be illegitimate (for example, a team had a smurf), an admin nulls it: it counts like it never happened. Every win, loss, MMR change, and streak from it is undone for all 10 players, and it doesn't count toward games played. The player responsible can still be penalized (8.4).
Section 5. MMR
- 5.1
Everyone starts the season at 2000 MMR. Every win is +50 and every loss is -50, before the bonuses below. There are no reduced losses. Canceled matches change nothing.
- 5.2
Win streaks: your 3rd win in a row is worth +5 extra, the 4th +10, and the 5th and every one after +15. A loss ends the streak.
- 5.3
Fill game (a role you didn't register, or your secondary below Plat IV): +5 extra on a win.
- 5.4
Underdog (your lane opponent is a massive gap above you, see 6.4): +5 extra on a win.
- 5.5
Registered as Fill: +5 extra on every win.
- 5.6
Underdog team: if the best teams the bot can make still leave yours weaker on paper, a win is worth up to +10 extra (+1 per 100 of rating gap). Losses don't change.
- 5.7
Bonuses stack: a fill game plus underdog is +60, and with a 5+ win streak and the underdog team bonus the most a single win can give is +85.
- 5.8
Captain draft games pay win streak bonuses only (no fill game, underdog, Registered Fill, or underdog team bonus).
Section 6. Matchmaking
- 6.1
Teams are balanced as closely as reasonably possible using your peak solo/duo rank over the last 3 seasons. Your PCL MMR is just the scoreboard and never affects teams. Close is the goal; perfectly even teams are not guaranteed.
- 6.2
Fill protection: didn't get your main role last game? You get priority for your main next game. In rare cases no valid team arrangement allows it, and you may be placed elsewhere.
- 6.3
Below Plat IV: you get your main or secondary role.
- 6.4
Massive gaps: 3 full tiers (Bronze IV vs Plat IV, Silver IV vs Emerald IV, Gold IV vs Diamond IV), and at the top: Plat vs Master, Emerald or Diamond vs Grandmaster, Master vs Challenger. A player on their main role is never put in a lane like that.
- 6.5
Thursdays are ARAM Mayhem day: every match that day is ARAM Mayhem (no roles, just the most even teams). No ARAM the rest of the week. ARAM games count like any other game: MMR, win streaks, games played, and prize eligibility.
- 6.6
Matchmaking abuse: you may not coordinate queue entries or deliberately game your registered roles to influence team assignments, avoid certain opponents, or farm bonus MMR.
- 6.7
Ready check: when a queue pops, all 10 players have 3 minutes to hit Ready (in the queue channel or the bot's DM). Anyone who doesn't, or hits Can't play, is removed from the queue, and everyone who readied goes back to the front.
- 6.8
Captain draft or auto-balance: once everyone is ready on a Summoner's Rift match, the 10 players get 45 seconds to vote. Most votes wins; a tie is auto-balance. In a captain draft the two highest-MMR players are captains, a coin flip picks Blue, and they pick teams and roles on the website (snake order, 2 minutes per pick, then the bot picks for them).
- 6.9
Off-role counts: you're rated lower on roles you don't main (a lot lower on a role you didn't register), even in Master+. Fill players are rated by the roles they actually play in ranked.
- 6.10
Even lanes: besides even teams, the bot avoids big rank gaps between laners, jungle and mid most of all.
Section 7. Prizes
- 7.1
The top 3 eligible players on the leaderboard when the season ends win prizes (1st $150, 2nd $100, 3rd $50). See the Prizes page.
- 7.2
To be eligible you need at least 30 games this season, registered on your highest-ranked account.
- 7.3
Prize verification: winners get an account and match-history review before prizes are paid out. Anyone found breaking competitive integrity rules can be disqualified.
- 7.4
Tiebreakers: players tied on MMR at the end of the season are ranked by total wins, then win rate, then head-to-head record where there is one.
Section 8. Conduct
- 8.1
Be respectful. No harassment, slurs, or flaming people out of the game.
- 8.2
No griefing: no intentional feeding, trolling, or going AFK.
- 8.3
Show up, play to win, and keep it fun. It's an in-house.
- 8.4
Penalties: breaking the rules can mean warnings, temporary queue suspensions, MMR adjustments where appropriate, prize disqualification, or a permanent ban, depending on how serious it is and your history. Conduct (8.1 to 8.3) is three strikes: a first warning, a second warning, then a ban. Serious cases (threats, hate speech, doxxing) can skip straight to a suspension or ban.
- 8.5
Retaliation: harassing, threatening, or targeting someone for reporting a rule break is prohibited.
Section 9. Questions and disputes
- 9.1
Ping an admin for anything that went wrong: a wrong result, a broken match, a player breaking the rules.
- 9.2
Got an idea for the PCL? Use the suggestion box. It is anonymous.
- 9.3
Appeals: you can appeal a suspension or disqualification through an admin. Include any relevant evidence. When possible, an admin who was not part of the original decision reviews it.
